Registered Nurse Program Details
Get trained to be a registered nurse by our experienced faculty. When you enroll in our Registered Nurse Program, you'll get hand-on training in:
- Advanced nursing skills
- Anatomy and physiology
- Nutrition and infection control
- Basic Life Support (BLS) course
You'll also get clinical experience in:
- Medical, surgical, obstetric, pediatric, and geriatric nursing
- Working at both acute and long-term care facilities
- Pharmacology and administration of medications
The Registered Nurse Program consists of 72 credit hours, which is divided into General Education (15 hours), Health Science (12 hours), Core Nursing Courses (45 hours), and includes clinical instruction. A Registered Nurse instructor will supervise you when you perform nursing skills in the laboratory and clinical setting.

Program Duration
Registered Nurse Program is offered twice a year.
Details:
- 12 months: Full-time / Day classes / Hours 8:30 am - 2:00 pm / Monday - Thursday
- 16 months: Part-time / Night classes / Hours 5:30 pm - 9:30 pm / Monday - Thursday
- 16 months: Part-time / Weekend flex program / Hours 9:00 am - 5:00 pm / Fridays and Saturdays
Entrance Requirements
Applicants must meet the following minimum admission criteria:
- Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Applicants must be at least 18 years of age (must present a valid ID with date of birth)
- Applicants must have a High School Diploma or GED. (Please stop by the Administrative Office for information on GED)
- Applicants must complete the Test of Essential Academic Skills Entrance Exam (TEAS) and earn an overall passage score of 65% or more. (Exam cost $70)
- Submit a completed application. A non-refundable $150 application fee is due at the time of enrollment. The fee is exclusive of the total tuition cost
- Applicant must complete a level II background screening
- Applicant must submit a (2) page Professional Goal Essay: Why I am choosing to further my healthcare career?
- Applicant must submit (2) reference letters: (1) personal; (1) professional
- Applicant must have current standard First Aid and CPR / AED for healthcare providers (from American Heart Association) prior to acceptance or before the Core Course is completed
- Maintain School accident and liability insurance
- Completion of health screening to include immunizations, HEP series or signed refusal, negative PPD result or chest X-Ray; to be completed and signed by Physician.
- Submit a copy of your Social Security Card
- Applicants are interviewed and accepted into the program based on their entrance and critical thinking exam results, background clearance, references, and applicant responses
- Once accepted, applicants must complete all deposit requirements, execute a payment agreement (if third-party funding was not obtained), attend the mandatory orientation, and confirm the start date
